Made-to-measure shutters for Altrincham homes and apartments
A short hop across the M56 from our Stockton Heath workshop, Altrincham is one of the few Trafford patches where we cover everything from grand Bowdon-edge villas to the new-build Interchange apartments — and each needs a very different shutter approach.

Edwardian villas around Hale Road and Bowdon-edge
The streets running between Hale Road and The Downs are dominated by large Edwardian and inter-war villas with deep splay bays, leaded heads and original timber sashes. These properties almost always need a hardwood spec — MDF can't span the wider casements without long-term sag, and the leaded glass benefits visually from a substantial frame width.
We've fitted several jobs on Stamford Road, Cavendish Road and around The Devisdale; the typical configuration is a five-panel bay in full-height with a mid-rail set above the leaded transom.
Town-centre apartments and the Interchange blocks
The newer apartment buildings off Oakfield, Stamford New Road and around the Goose Green redevelopment have floor-to-ceiling glazing and very little reveal depth. We typically face-fix tracked shutters here, which slide neatly aside during the day and seal cleanly at night without the cord-clutter of blinds.
How Altrincham fits into our service map
We can usually get a surveyor to Altrincham within five working days, and lead times from the workshop to a fitted job typically run four to six weeks. Coverage extends naturally across Bowdon, Hale, Hale Barns, Timperley, Broadheath and out to Dunham Massey.

Common Questions
Frequently asked
Do you fit shutters in the Altrincham conservation areas?
Yes — the Devisdale, Old Market Place and Goose Green conservation areas all sit fine with inside-reveal shutters because nothing visible from the street changes. We can supply elevation drawings for any Trafford planning queries.
How do you handle the bay windows on Edwardian villas off Hale Road?
We split the bay into three or five sections depending on the geometry, with a unified mid-rail height across all panels so the room reads as one piece. Hardwood is the usual spec on those properties because the openings are too wide for MDF to span without sagging.
Can you fit shutters in the apartments around the Interchange?
Regularly — the new blocks off Stamford New Road and Oakfield have floor-to-ceiling glazing where tracked shutters or tier-on-tier panels are the only sensible privacy solution. We coordinate with the building manager for parking and lift access.
How far do you travel into Trafford?
Altrincham is the eastern edge of our regular patch — about 18 minutes via the M56. We also cover Bowdon, Hale, Hale Barns and into Timperley as a normal day's work.
