For a standard window, expect roughly £85 upwards for a made-to-measure blind, a similar range for ready-made curtains plus a pole, and £450 upwards for a fitted shutter. Made-to-measure curtains in a decent fabric can overtake shutters quickly once lining and making-up are counted.

The honest comparison is replacement cycles. Blinds in a sunny south-facing room fade and their mechanisms wear. Curtains absorb cooking smells and sunlight and are dry-cleaned or replaced. A shutter is dusted and stays put.
