Shutter pricing online is largely fictional. The numbers below come from real jobs we've measured, fitted and invoiced across Warrington, Stockton Heath, Lymm, Appleton, Grappenhall and Knutsford in the last twelve months — VAT included, fitted, no extras.
Standard window (single panel, up to 1.2m wide)
- MDF Antigua: £380–£480
- ABS waterproof: £420–£540
- Hardwood basswood: £540–£700
Three-section splay bay (the most common Cheshire quote)
- MDF Antigua: £950–£1,150
- ABS waterproof: £1,050–£1,250
- Hardwood basswood: £1,300–£1,550

Bathroom window (ABS only)
Single bathroom window in ABS waterproof: £420–£600 fitted. Larger family bathrooms with two windows typically £900–£1,200 the pair. We don't quote MDF for bathrooms — it fails within two years.
Whole-house quote (typical 3-bed semi)
A typical Warrington 3-bed semi with a bay, 5 bedroom/landing windows and a bathroom comes in at £3,400–£4,800 in MDF Antigua, or £4,800–£6,800 in hardwood. Whole-house quotes usually get a 5–10% discount versus single-window pricing.
What changes the price (in order of impact)
- Material (MDF → hardwood is +35–55%)
- Window size (larger panels cost more per cm²)
- Bay shape (splay > square > flat)
- Louvre size (89mm and 114mm cost more than 64mm)
- Hinge spec (hidden hinges add £30–£60 per panel)
- Tier-on-tier vs full-height (tier-on-tier +15%)
- Shape work (arched / circular tops add 25–40%)
What doesn't change the price
Postcode (we charge the same in Knutsford as we do in Warrington), colour choice on standard whites, and number of louvres per panel. Anyone charging extra for "Lymm" or "Knutsford" is taking the mick.
Why the cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest job
A low number usually means a thinner frame, a visible hinge, a wider gap tolerance, or a fitter who is in and out in twenty minutes. On a window you will look at every day for fifteen years, the difference shows. We measure and fit every job ourselves rather than passing it to a subcontractor, so the person who quoted is the person who is accountable for the finish.

The only accurate price is one taken from your actual windows. Our home visit is free, takes about forty minutes, and you get a written quote with no pressure to decide on the day. Fitting and VAT are always included, there is no minimum order, and whole-house orders usually attract a small discount.
Common questions on price
- Are shutters more expensive than blinds? Yes, up front. Blinds start around £85 fitted, shutters around £450. Shutters usually last far longer, so the cost per year is closer than the headline suggests.
- Is fitting included? Yes, every price is supplied and fitted, VAT included, with no extras added later.
- Do you charge more for outlying towns? No. Knutsford, Lymm and Widnes are priced the same as Warrington.
- Can I do one room at a time? Plenty of customers do, there is no minimum order.
