Ballpark first
For a typical three bedroom semi with a front bay, seven or eight windows and one bathroom, a full set of plantation shutters usually lands somewhere between £4,500 and £7,500 fitted. A four bedroom detached with ten to twelve windows and two bays sits nearer £7,000 to £11,000. Those spans are wide because the bay type, the material and whether you shutter the back of the house move the total more than anything else.
Building the number from the windows up
Nobody prices a house; we price each window and add them up. So the fastest way to estimate your own total is to walk round with a notepad and put each opening into one of four buckets: standard window, small window, bay, and bathroom or kitchen. Then apply the bands below.

A three bedroom semi, worked through
Take a common Warrington layout: front bay to the lounge, one front bedroom window, a small landing window, two rear bedroom windows, a dining room window at the back, a kitchen window and a bathroom.

A four bedroom detached, worked through
Detached houses add windows quickly. Two bays (lounge and main bedroom), four further bedroom windows, a study, a landing, a utility, a kitchen and two bathrooms is not unusual. Two four-section bays alone account for £2,500 to £4,200. Seven standard windows add £3,150 or more. The three wet rooms in ABS take it further. That is how £7,000 to £11,000 comes about without any exotic choices at all.
The three decisions that swing the total most
Material first: hardwood throughout costs more than MDF-cored composite throughout, and the difference compounds across ten windows. Bay configuration second: tier on tier in the bays adds 20 to 25 percent to those sections. Coverage third: leaving the rear of the house in blinds and shuttering only the front and the wet rooms can take a third off the total, and from the street the house looks fully shuttered.
Timing also plays a part. Ordering the whole house at once means one survey, one delivery and one fitting visit, which is cheaper for us than three separate jobs and is reflected in the quote.
Phasing it
Plenty of customers do the front of the house first and the back a year later. That works, with one caveat: order the same range and colour reference both times so the panels match. We keep a record of every job, so a later phase can be matched to the first without you having to remember the codes.

Is a whole-house order priced more keenly?
A whole-house order is more efficient to survey, deliver and fit than several small ones, and the written quote reflects that. We do not publish a fixed percentage because it depends on the mix of windows.
Can I get a whole-house price without a survey?
You can get a ballpark using the bands on this page, and we are happy to talk it through on the phone. A firm figure needs a survey, because bay angles and reveal depths cannot be guessed.
Which rooms do people skip to save money?
Usually rear bedrooms, utility rooms and landings, which get blinds instead. The front elevation and the bathroom are the two places almost everyone keeps.
Does a bigger house take longer to fit?
A three bed is usually fitted in a day; a large four bed may take two. Manufacture time is the same six to eight weeks whether you order three windows or twelve.
