What no-drill actually means
Perfect-fit blinds sit in a slim frame that grips the rubber glazing bead on a uPVC unit. Nothing penetrates the profile and the whole thing lifts out later. Tension-fitted rollers work on some recesses using pressure rather than screws.
Neither works on every window, timber sashes and some aluminium profiles have no bead to clip into, so it is worth checking your window type before assuming.
Talking to the landlord first
Most landlords say yes to a fitted blind because the property ends up better dressed than it was. Ask in writing, state whether anything is being screwed, and confirm who owns the blinds at the end of the tenancy.
If the answer is no drilling under any circumstances, that decides the product for you and we work within it.
The landlord's side of it
For landlords, cheap blinds are a recurring cost. Cords break, slats snap and every void period includes replacing something. Durable, cordless dressings survive tenant changes and remove the child-safety question at the same time.
Shutters go further, they are a fitting rather than a consumable, and they do not get replaced between tenancies.

Can I fit blinds in a rented flat without permission?
If nothing is drilled, you are usually within the terms, but tenancy agreements vary. Ask the landlord or agent in writing first, it is a short email and it removes any deposit dispute later.
Do perfect-fit blinds leave marks?
They clip into the glazing bead and lift out again. There are no screw holes in the frame.
Are shutters worth it in a rental?
For a landlord, often yes, they last through multiple tenancies and remove cord safety concerns. For a tenant they are rarely worth the investment unless the landlord contributes.
