Why made-to-measure takes time
After the survey, the specification goes to manufacture: frames cut to your reveal, panels machined, finished and cured. Curing a paint finish properly cannot be rushed without it marking in transit.
Blinds are quicker because the fabrication is simpler and the tolerances are more forgiving.
UK manufacture and fast-track
A UK-made order avoids container shipping and customs, which is where imported shutters lose weeks and where delays become unpredictable. Our UK fast-track route brings shutters down substantially when a date is tight.
It also means a replacement part or a remade panel is weeks rather than months if anything is ever needed.
Sequencing with other work
Order shutters after new windows are in and after the reveals are plastered and painted. Fitting before decorating means masking around panels or taking them off again.
For a move, survey once you have access, and tell us the completion date so the manufacturing slot is booked against it.

Keeping you informed
You get a realistic date at the point of order rather than an optimistic one, and we contact you to book the fit as the manufacturing completes. If something slips at the factory we tell you when we know, not on the day.

Typically 6-8 weeks from order, with a UK fast-track route around 2-3 weeks where the specification allows and the date demands it.
How long do blinds take?
Usually 10-14 days from order to fitting for standard made-to-measure products.
Can you work to a fixed deadline?
Tell us the date at the survey and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable and which route gets there.
Should I decorate before or after fitting?
Before. Painting around fitted panels is slow and the finish suffers.
