No drilling, no screws
A perfect fit blind is a slim framed blind that clips into the rubber gasket between the glass and the bead of a uPVC or aluminium window, with no screws, no drilling and no marks when removed. It sits flat against the glass, moves with the sash when the window opens or tilts, and leaves no light gap at the sides. It suits tilt and turn windows, bifolds, French doors and conservatories especially well, and is available with pleated, roller and venetian fabrics.

How the clip system works
Four small brackets slide into the gap between the glass and the rubber gasket at the corners of the pane. A slim aluminium frame, colour matched to the window, then clicks onto those brackets. The blind fabric runs inside the frame on side channels, so it stays put whatever angle the window is at. To remove it you unclip the frame and slide the brackets out; the gasket closes back up and there is nothing to make good.
Which windows qualify
The system needs a bead deep enough to hold the bracket, usually 18mm or more, and a gasket that is not too brittle to accept it. Most uPVC windows fitted in the last twenty five years qualify. Aluminium windows with a suitable bead work too. Timber windows do not, because there is no gasket to clip into. Very large panes can exceed the fabric or frame limits and are split or handled with another system. The survey checks all of this pane by pane.
Where it is the best answer
Perfect fit is the first thing we suggest on these openings.
- Tilt and turn windows, because the blind tilts with the sash instead of swinging into it.
- Bifold and French doors, where each leaf keeps its own blind that folds away with the door.
- Conservatory side glazing, where there is no recess and screws into thin uPVC are unwelcome.
- Rental properties and new-build warranties, where drilling the frames is not allowed.
- Bathrooms and kitchens, in a moisture-resistant pleated or faux-wood venetian fabric.
Fabric choices inside the frame
Pleated fabric is the most common, folding into a small stack at the top and available in blackout and solar-reflective finishes that matter in a conservatory. Roller fabric gives a flat, plain look. A slim 25mm venetian, aluminium or faux-wood, gives tilting slats for privacy with light. Because the frame sits so close to the glass, blackout pleated fabric in a perfect fit frame is one of the better light seals available on a uPVC window short of shutters.
Cost and lead time
Perfect fit blinds are priced per pane rather than per window, so a window with two opening lights and a fixed centre is three blinds. Each sits in the roller band upwards depending on fabric, and the total is often close to a single made to measure blind over the whole window. Lead time is the usual two to three weeks. Fitting is quick and clean, with no dust and no drill.

Will perfect fit blinds fall off?
No. The brackets are held by the bead and the frame clicks positively onto them. They stay in place through years of opening and tilting the window.
Do they void the window guarantee?
Because nothing is drilled or glued, perfect fit is widely regarded as the safest option for warranted windows. If you have a specific installer's guarantee, check its wording; we will happily explain how the brackets sit.
Can perfect fit blinds be blackout?
Yes. Blackout pleated fabric is available, and because the frame hugs the glass the light leakage is small. There is still a slight glow at the frame edge in bright sun.
Can I still open the window?
Fully. The blind is fixed to the sash, so it moves with the window in every position, open, tilted or closed.
Can perfect fit blinds be motorised?
Some pleated and roller perfect fit systems accept a small battery motor, useful on high conservatory panes. The survey confirms availability for your frame size.
How do I clean them?
Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and dust pleated fabric with a soft brush. The whole frame unclips in seconds if you want to clean the glass behind it.
