Why width and drop matter so much
Blinds are priced from a grid of width against drop. A small increase in width can tip a blind into the next column, and a very wide blind needs a heavier tube or track, which is a step change rather than a gradual one. Two blinds side by side on a wide window are sometimes cheaper than one, and often more practical. The survey will price it both ways when that applies.
Fabric is the other big lever
Within one blind type, fabric can double the price. A plain polyester roller is the entry point. Blackout coatings, thermal backings, flame-retardant treatments, textured weaves and designer prints each add to it. This is where handling the fabric books at home pays off: a mid-grade fabric that looks right in your own light is a better buy than a top-grade one chosen from a screen.
Controls and extras
Small choices that appear on a quote and what they do to the price.
- Chain or cord: standard, included, fitted with the required child-safety devices.
- Cordless or spring operation: a modest addition, and removes the cord entirely.
- Cassette or fascia headrail: hides the roll of a roller blind; adds a little per blind.
- Motorisation: the largest single extra, priced per blind plus one remote or hub.
- Shaped or angled blinds: made to a template, priced individually.
Pricing a whole house of blinds
Eight to ten plain rollers across a three bedroom house, fitted, is a modest four-figure total; the same house in wooden venetians roughly doubles it. Mixing types by room is the sensible approach: blackout rollers in bedrooms, wooden venetians in the lounge and dining room, faux-wood or perfect-fit in the kitchen and bathroom. One survey, one delivery and one fitting visit keeps the total efficient, and the quote is itemised per window so you can drop or swap any blind before confirming.

Is fitting really included?
Yes. Every price we quote is supplied and fitted. There is no separate call-out or installation line.
Are blinds cheaper than shutters?

Is there a minimum order?
No. We fit single blinds as happily as whole houses, though the survey and fitting are naturally more efficient when several windows are done together.
Do prices include VAT?
Yes. Every figure on this page and on your written quote includes VAT.
Can I get a price without a home visit?
We can give a realistic range on the phone from your rough sizes. A firm figure follows the free survey, because recess depth, obstructions and fabric choice all affect it.
Why is a Roman blind so much dearer than a roller?
A Roman uses two to three times the fabric of a roller on the same window, is usually lined, and is hand finished. The look is softer and more furnished, which is what the extra pays for.
Are blackout fabrics much more expensive?
A blackout roller typically adds a modest amount over the plain equivalent. It is the single most worthwhile upgrade in a bedroom and rarely the reason a quote looks high.
